Mr. Cottontail Is A Daddy

We have lots of cottontail rabbits. I believe there is a family under the house. We have another family in the barn, and in the shed, and probably in the woods. We see them a lot.
But this little guy was much smaller than the others.

He seemed to be just as interested in the kids as they were in him!

He was very little!

The pictures aren't very good because I shot them through a screen. I used the Nikon D70 which probably helped me get the focus past the screen so we could see the bunny. I haven't taken very many pictures this week because I have miss placed my other camera. My point and shoot panisonic. That's the camera I use the most. I took the pictures of the wildflowers with it as well as the horseshoes and the hummingbird at sunset.

  2. oh we have a family of rabbits and new bunnies living near us as well, the kiddos were thinking they were going to capture the bunnies for awhile. UnTil I looked up on the internet that wild bunnies die if you bring them home(because you know they didn't believe me when I told them - only .COM!)

    1. Haha! You could read them the Velveteen Rabbit and tell them that all the bunnies used to be toys and so now that they are free, they really don't want to go back! LOL!

  4. He looks quite snuggly! My kids love looking at the animals that wander into our back yard. We have lots of bunnies, fox, and a friendly groundhog (at least we think that's what it is). Animals are so fascinating to children!

    1. We have bunnies, ground squirrels, and marmot that we see all the time, and coyote, deer, bighorn sheep and other bigger animals that we don't see as often. We had a badger last fall too. But we are the last house/ranch that you pass as you head into the mountains and so we have more wild things! :)
