C is for Cubs

These cubs are growing and we hope we get a chance to see them again soon. As you may recall, these pictures are from last year, when they where a year old. But you can see more of the family and compare how they've grown here.

By the end of the summer they thought they owned the place.

Hopeful, this year, they won't become such a nuisance that they have to be removed.

  2. What cuties! Hope they don't become a nuisance though. Bears can be too curious for their own good (or yours).

    1. Yes, by the end of last summer they were all over the place. We even used firecracker shots and bear spray on them, but that didn't always work. If they come back this year, we may have to be more aggressive.

    1. Yes, from the other post, which you can go to using the link in the top, you can see that Mama was sitting in the grove just past this. She's pretty mellow and quite small. We think this must be her first time as a Mama. My husband used a telephoto lens on these, of course.

  5. Awww, I just had to click on your thumbnail to get my baby bear fix. Cute photos! When we first moved here six years ago we had many bears that would visit our yard. One year we had a mama bear with FIVE cubs who I nicknamed Fertile Myrtle. She kept those five cubs all year long. Now since New Jersey has started up with the legal bear hunt for the past two years we have only seen a bear a few times. I miss them!
